iEat Green Shares Interview with Natalie Flores, Founder of Nourish LA!

Yesterday I had an inspirational conversation with Natalie Flores about how she started Nourish LA., a community hub that intercepts food before it enters the waste stream, and re-directs it to people who are in need. As an urban farmer, young mother, and community activist, she just couldn’t stand by and watch people in her community not have enough to eat during the pandemic.  With the help of her community, she is now feeding 1500 people every single weekend. Nourish LA has recruited volunteers to help package the food, and has reached out into the community for donations of both food and money. They even distribute seedlings in order to help people start their own gardens and grow their own food. Nourish LA has been so instrumental in her community, that she has now turned it into a legitimate 501c3 organization, with the goal of building a more equitable food system for everyone.

If you missed our interview, please listen to it below. It truly is inspirational to see what one individual with passion can do to change her community.
