iEat Green Shares Interview with Chung-Wha Hong, the Executive Director of Grassroots International.

I had a great interview this morning with Chung-Wha Hong, about the work they are doing to support small farmers and producers, Indigenous Peoples and women working around the world to win their rights to land, water and food. As a global justice advocacy and grant making organization, Grassroots International connects progressive donors in the US, to high-impact social movements in the Global South.

What I found most impressive, is that they don’t support short term projects, they support long term social movements, led by the people on the ground! Chung-Wha shared some amazing stories; from communities coming together to fight the corporate hydro-electric water dams that serve the mining industry, or the building of a “Feminist Economy”, women coming together to get things done! Both movements are changing the lives of the people who live there.

I’m so grateful that Grassroots International exists, and is able to support these important social movements. If you missed the interview, you can listen to it here.
