iEat Green Shares Interview with Brett Coleman, Co-Founder of Agrihood Living!

Yesterday, I had a great conversation with Brett Coleman about the website he and his wife, Lena, founded, AgrihoodLiving.com.

The website documents their journey across America over 11 months, covering 7,000 miles and visiting 21 Agrihood Communities throughout the country. If you’re wondering what an Agrihood is, it is a community that is founded around the Farm to Table movement, and reaps the benefit of having a farm as the center of the neighborhood. After talking with him and visiting his website, I am convinced that this is a movement still in its infancy, one that has great potential to grow and expand! Just imagine if all of the golf communities in this country were organic farms instead! How would the health of our country be if everyone could live in a community with access to fresh, healthy vegetables?

The types of Agrihoods really varies, from a single persons dream to create a “Garden of Eden,” complete with a country store, a school and a social hall, to a developer wanting to cash in on the Farm to Table movement. Therefore, you need to do your homework, and Brett’s website can help you do that!

Personally, I would love to create an Agrihood with like minded friends, centered around growing and eating organic food, community, and spiritual well being. What a nice dream!
