iEat Green is Taking the Summer Off! Ken Meter, Author of the New Book, “Building Community Food Webs” Joins Bhavani on PRN!

Hi Everyone,

I’m not really taking the summer off, but I am taking a short break from the radio show and newsletter so that I can focus on my garden and on our family business Jaroff Studio. There just aren’t enough hours in the day for me to work in the garden, work in the business, and do my show, while enjoying life.  One thing the pandemic has taught me, is to not take anything for granted, and to appreciate and be grateful for all the people in my life that nourish me, love me, and make me who I am. I need time to soak that up. It has been a long year of missing everyone, and we all have some catching up to do. I’ll be back on September 2nd, so have a great summer, and I’ll be with you again soon.

But before I go, I have one last guest that I want to introduce to all of you. His name is Ken Meter, and he just came out with a new book called, Building Community Food Webs. Ken is one of the most experienced food system analysts in the U.S., integrating market analysis, business development, systems thinking, and social concerns. He has worked for fifty years in inner-city and rural community capacity building. His local economic analyses have promoted local food networks in 143 regions in 41 states, two provinces, and four tribal nations. Ken is a real mover and shaker, and his work is helping to change the landscape for grassroots food networks and community organizers across the country. I hope you can join us on Thursday!
