2014 Riverkeeper Sweep

The 2014 Riverkeeper Sweep, our third-annual day of service for the Hudson River estuary, will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2014, with select cleanups taking place on Friday, May 9. The Riverkeeper Sweep is a Waterkeeper Alliance SPLASH Series event, presented nationally by Toyota. SPLASH events engage local communities nationwide in water-based activities and clean water action, and this is the signature event for New York City and the Hudson Valley. The 2013 Riverkeeper Sweep engaged more than 1,400 volunteers, who removed an estimated 38 tons of trash and planted more than 300 trees in 72 shoreline locations on the Hudson River and its tributaries. Riverkeeper relies on local volunteers to help organize service projects.
