“Our campaign is growing stronger. In the fall, we blockaded pipeline construction, blocked the entrance to Senator Schumer’s office, locked down inside the pipes slotted to be pulled under the Hudson River, and blocked construction work with a tripod. Court cases continue for over 100 of our ResistSPECTRA heroes and friends, many recently arrested for blockading pipeline construction sites very near Indian Point nuclear power plant.
We also speak out at the monthly meeting of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in Washington, DC, demanding an explanation why FERC is ignoring the strong requests of Governor Cuomo and NY Senators Gillibrand and Schumer to halt construction of the pipeline pending independent safety reviews by state agencies. Other important “events” are ongoing, while others are being planned.”
