Hi All,
I don’t know about you, but for me, Summer just flew by! I always look forward to the time of year where I am outside, hosting friends, in my garden, teaching cooking classes, and in the pool, but it goes by way too fast!! I wish I could slow it down, but it just keeps speeding up. Before this Summer fully comes to a close, I invite you all to join my last outdoor event, “A Day of Rejuvenation”
Remembering Amy with Love
Every Friday during the Summer, Sea Cliff Beach hosts live music, and it is a real community event. However, this past Friday was a special night, it was a celebration of a special life that personally touched so many of us. I’m talking about Amy Peters, the founder of Deep Roots Farmers Market, The Rusty String Band, Board Member to Slow Food North Shore, life long activist, and my personal protest buddy. Amy and I would take the protest bus to Albany or Washington DC with signs in hand and food to share, whether we were protesting the latest pipeline, nuclear plant, women’s rights, gun control or Black Lives Matter. Showing up and speaking out were attributes that Amy and I shared, and I know from talking to so many of you, that each of you had your own special relationship with her. That is one of the things that made Amy so special, was her gift of making everyone else feel special. She will continue to live in the hearts of so many of us.
Bhavani Joins Healthy Planet Radio Show!
Last week I was invited to join Bob DiBenedetto on his radio show, Healthy Planet, to talk about my work, and how it relates to food, activism, and agriculture. We were joined by Dominic Lampasi, a long time Slow Food member and an iEat Green volunteer. The show was a lot of fun and I would love to share the link with all of you here. Please have a listen!!
