To my Dear Family, Friends and Followers,
I’ve missed my weekly communications with all of you, and I am happy to announce that I am starting up my newsletter again and hope you all will continue to follow me and share with your friends! It’s hard to believe Covid is 5 years behind us, and we are now in the midst of a revolution! I can’t stay silent anymore and need my newsletter as an outlet to connect with my community again. As you all know, the current President is dismantling our country in leaps and bounds. He has cut funding to our food programs, to our farmers, to our education system, to our climate crisis, to social justice and DEI programs, and these are the issues we all care about!! It’s up to all of us,to band together and let our voices be heard. As a board member of NOFA-NY, I am witnessing first hand what many of these cuts are doing to our farmers, food equity programs, and non-profit organizations. It is becoming more apparent to me than ever, how important my community is, and we need to create more opportunities to bring us together.
On June 21st, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, come join the first of my cooking classes! This class will focus on the making of Seitan.
Seitan is wheat meat, and there is nothing like home made Seitan! You can cut seitan into cutlets and make one of my favorite dishes,
Seitan Marsala, using the Shiitake Mushrooms we grow on our property. I used to make this dish for all of the vegetarian weddings I catered. We will also make Seitan Stroganoff and Seitan Bolognese. Space is limited, so please sign up soon. More information is on my event page!
