Dahlias, Dahlias Everywhere!
Hi Everyone,
My daughter loves dahlias! She requested that we expand our flower garden this year and create a Dahlia garden. I’ve always been resistant to planting bulbs that need to be dug up in the Fall and stored over the Winter, only to replant again in the Spring, but I must admit, I am now a convert! The Dahlia’s have been blessing us with gorgeous flowers since August, and the beauty continues. We enjoyed planting the bulbs together, and we will dig them up together when the time comes, but in the meantime, the flowers keep coming!!

Southampton Hospital Invites iEat Green to Present Cooking Demo to Their Residents!
Every year, Dr. Van Arsdale, the Medical Director of Education at Southampton Hospital invites me to come out to present a cooking demo and talk to their new cohort of residents. It is one of my favorite things to do! I not only get to talk about our broken food system and why eating organic is so important, but I get to do it with future doctors! Young
people who are just beginning their medical careers and who will have the opportunity to go forth and instill in their patients the connection that good food has on their health. This year, instead of doing my presentation in the all purpose room of the hospital, I got to do it in an old historic barn at the Southampton History Museum. The ambiance of the barn was the perfect setting for the new group of residents to enjoy the cooking demo, while getting to know each other and sharing a meal together. These residents are very fortunate to have a medical director that believes in the power of food as medicine, and who promotes that philosophy in his own practice. If you are in the market for a great family medicine doctor, I couldn’t recommend Dr. Daniel Van Arsdale enough!!
