Hi All,
Wow, I never thought about taking up mountain biking until yesterday, when I interviewed Michael Vitti about his passion, and the work that he does. He is responsible for building and maintaining over 175 miles of
mountain bike trails here on Long Island and in NYC. I never thought of it as a meditation, and never realized that the trails are really removed from the noise and traffic, and connect you to
nature in a very profound way. The trails vary from a 5-1/2 mile loop to a 22 mile path, from easy to more difficult, with meandering winding paths to jumps and challenges for the more courageous. You have to check out his websites! The first one is for Concerned LI Mountain Bicyclist (CLIMB), which sets up and maintains the mountain bike trails, and the second one is for LI Greenways and Healthy Trails (LIGHT), which advocates for paved paths, making LI parks and beaches accessible by bicyclists. If you missed our interview, check it out here!
