In The News: Greenpeace Loses Law Suit Against Energy Transfer; 2026 Farm Bill Causing More Harm Than Good

File:Protest against the Dakota Access Pipeline.jpgI was so disappointed to hear that Greenpeace was sued by Energy Transfer, and that they lost. Energy Transfer is the company responsible for building the Dakota Access Pipeline, and Greenpeace, in their effort to stop the pipeline, signed a letter to banks expressing its opposition, a document signed by thousands of other groups and organizations. They were sued for causing construction delays that cost the company money.

This may the beginning of the US’s first anti-“SLAPP” statute, a strategic lawsuit against public participation. Some are saying that this case will be used to kill the First Amendment and breakdown our right to protest.

I know that Greenpeace will be seeking a new trial and, if necessary, filing an appeal to the North Dakota Supreme Court. I hope that everything works out in their (and all of our) favor in the end.

2026 Farm Bill Causing More Harm Than Good

File:Hazardous-pesticide.jpg

The 2026 Farm Bill has a scary proposal in it that I cannot believe that lawmakers are trying to pass through Congress. The bill calls for the immunity of pesticide companies from being sued if their product causes harm, as long as it was previously approved by the EPA, and we all know the EPA is corrupt and is not doing their job! This takes away our power to sue those who are responsible for spraying harmful chemicals near our homes or our food. It has been well known for so many years how harmful pesticides are to our health. How and why are we allowing pesticide companies to gain immunity like this? As always, follow the money!!
