Love is Acts of service We all know hope isn’t a strategy. That’s why more than 1,400 DFLI volunteers, friends and neighbors, have been organizing on Long Island since 2024 to support the issues and candidates who align with our values. Our efforts have helped to win seats from Eastern Suffolk to Western Nassau. Don’t know how to get involved. Just choose the group that feels like the best fit for your interest experience and/or skills and talk with one of the co-leaders about ways to participate.  You can also learn about our working groups:

We’ll also be screening the award-winning documentary “Join, or Die”, based on the acclaimed book by Robert Putnam: “Bowling Alone”, about the critical importance of civic organizing. You’ll meet other pro-democracy volunteers, hear from candidates and leave feeling inspired. The festivities commence at 1 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Huntington.
