Hi Everyone,
If you are a believer in the climate crisis, or freedom of speech, or equal opportunity to all, then you would agree with me that we are living through some very challenging times. To get through it, some people choose to isolate themselves and turn off the news, while others choose to hunker down and get involved in action. I am of the later. There are many ways to take action. In addition to getting involved in local politics and protests, I am choosing to create opportunities for people of like mind to come together and share in the love and humanity that America used to stand for.
This past week I hosted a multi company BBQ, bringing together three different companies with employees from around the world, along with a Vegan Mediterranean Cooking Class. The events were very different, but the core value of love, respect and the pleasures of food, was present in both.
Medicinal Herb Walk on August 4th!
Next week, on Monday, August 4th, iEat Green will be collaborating with Slow Food North Shore to host Ellen Kamhi, the Natural Nurse, on a Medicinal Herb Walk at the beach in Oyster Bay. This will be another opportunity to come together with people who care about health and the earth, and want to learn more about the natural remedies that nature provides and how to use them! I hope you can join us.

Rage Against the Regime on August 2nd!
Coming up this weekend, August 2nd, there is a National Day of Action! As of today, there are 260 anti-Trump “Rage Against the Regime” protests planned across the country, with more protests being added daily. The non-profit “50 Protests, 50 States, One Movement,” also known as 50501, is the main organizer, with many partner organizations. They are calling upon people to “Come together to transform anger into action, harnessing the energy of collective resistance. We’re fed up with the corruption, the cruelty, the erosion of rights,”
There are protests planned in Garden City, Babylon, Massapequa, and Huntington with more protests being added.
The Center for American Progress, a think tank, wrote in an X, formerly Twitter, post on Saturday: “If just 3.5% of Americans—12 million people—mobilize to peacefully protest the authoritarian actions of the Trump administration, it would be virtually impossible for the government to ignore their demands.”
