Take Action: Support A Strong Clean Power Plan; Call to Stop Monsanto’s GMO Trolls in The Senate; Save the Endangered Species Act from Corporate Polluters

Support A Strong Clean Power Plan

Environmental_Protection_Agency_logoThe Paris climate agreement is a turning point for the world and the climate movement. It comes after an incredible year — President Obama rejected Keystone XL, Shell abandoned drilling in the Arctic, and the Beyond Coal Campaign celebrated its 200th coal plant retirement. But that is only the beginning, we need to keep the pressure on the EPA to do the right thing and make the Clean Power Plan a strong and just agreement to make the switch to more clean energy and less reliant on fossil fuels. Call to Stop Monsanto’s GMO Trolls in The SenateUntitled

The DARK Act has passed the House, and this may be our last chance to stop it. Now Monsanto and the GMA are working behind the scenes to make sure a similar bill passes in the Senate so it can be signed into law by the President. The good news is that we’ve managed to hold the Senate off by flooding them with tens of thousands of phone calls, but now a handful of Senators are working to provide Monsanto the extra legal protections it wants by sneaking a legislative rider into a must pass spending bill that must be signed before December 16th to fund the government. Now is the time to call your local Senator to stop this from happening. Click here to find your local Senator’s number and a letter already written out for you to say.

Save the Endangered Species Act from Corporate Polluters

Canis_lupus_2_(Martin_Mecnarowski)Right now the Endangered Species Act is under attack—and ferrets, gray wolves, and the more than 1,500 other plants and animals it safeguards are in jeopardy. A band of pro-polluter members of Congress, led by Rep. Doc Hastings, is ramming through a series of misleading and devastating bills that would gut the ESA. They say their only goal is to “reform” the act, but we know what they really want: to let corporate polluters profit from logging, mining, and drilling our most vulnerable wildlife into oblivion. Protecting natural habitat bolsters our economy to the tune of $1.6 trillion a year, and 99 percent of all animals ever protected under the act have been saved from extinction. Please sign the petition now to save our endangered species!
