Stand Up for Science: Demand an Investigation into Pruitt’s Decision to Remove Scientists from EPA Advisory Board

Investigate the EPA's removal of independent scientists from advisory boards“As the head of Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Scott Pruitt is shameless in his quest to get rid of environmental protections. In the latest assault on his own agency’s mission, Pruitt has quietly moved to replace independent scientists on EPA advisory boards with fossil fuel and chemical industry representatives…Pruitt has banned scientists who have received EPA grants from serving on advisory boards, claiming that he is eliminating conflicts of interest. In fact, his policy does the opposite. Pruitt is getting rid of academic experts – who rely on outside research funding – and replacing them with corporate-funded scientists. Because research grants often go to the top scientists in a given field, Pruitt’s policy systematically excludes many of the most qualified scientists from advising the EPA.”

TAKE ACTION! Get these toxic chemicals out of our household products NOW

Image result for toxic chemicalsThere are countless household goods that are manufactured with chemicals, which pose serious health risks to you and your family. When you come into contact with these toxic products consistently, and for prolonged periods of time, you might eventually suffer the consequences.

That is why the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced a groundbreaking decision to move forward with a ban on these chemicals in children’s products, furniture, mattresses, and the casings around electronics. But now, thanks to the Trump administration, that hard-fought victory is at risk. The decision to ban these chemicals came out of a two-year effort by a diverse coalition including firefighters, pediatricians, consumer advocates, scientists and Earthjustice supporters like you, who sent over 80,000 letters urging the CPSC to ban toxic flame retardants from consumer products.” – Earthjustice

Chemical giants Monsanto and Bayer are scheming to merge, giving a single mega-corporation unprecedented control of our food supply.

This would be a catastrophe for pollinators. Bees are already being decimated by neonicotinoid pesticides produced by Bayer, and Monsanto’s Roundup® is credited with the sharp decline in monarch butterfly populations.

beesPlease raise awareness of this impending catastrophe and stand up for our rights to clean, unadulterated food! With a mega-merger like this one, the fight against GMO’s and pesticides will continue to be an uphill battle. Together we can make our voices heard! Vote here with Friends of the Earth.
