Recipe: Fat Free Linzer Tart

Hey Everyone,

For those of you who can’t have a lot of fat in your diet but still want to have something indulgent every once in a while, here is the recipe for you. These linzer tarts are delicious and sweet, but the apple sauce replaces the fat in the recipe, and it works great! Try these out at home and enjoy!

Ingredients
  • ½ cup puffed organic millet
  • 1 ½ cup oats
  • 1 cup W.W. pastry flour
  • ½ t. cinnamon
  • ½ t. baking soda
  • Pinch salt
  • ⅔rd cup maple syrup
  • ½ cup apple sauce
  • 1 jar raspberry, apricot or other jam
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350’ degrees.
  2. Combine all ingredients, except jam, in large bowl. Make into 1” balls. Press down on greased cookie sheet, creating a flat cookie. Indent center of cookie with your thumb. Fill in center with raspberry jam.
  3. Bake at 350’ for 10 minutes, turn cookie sheet and bake another 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven and let cool before transferring.

Step-By-Step Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350’ degrees.

Combine all ingredients, except jam, in large bowl.
