Ingredients
  • FILLING for two strudels
  • Approx. 10-12 organic apples, peeled, cored and sliced thin
  • 1 lemon
  • ? cup honey
  • 1 ? t. cinnamon
  • ? t. cardamom
  • ? cup candied ginger, cut into small pieces
  • ? cup organic white flour
  • PASTRY
  • 2 sheets of your favorite puff pastry
  • Egg wash
Instructions
  1. For Filling, combine all ingredients in large bowl and mix well.
  2. Lay out one sheet of puff pastry on floured surface, and roll out to approx. 8? x 12?, with the 12? side facing you.
  3. Divide the apples in half, and put one half of the mixture in the middle of the pastry sheet, along the 12? length of the pastry.
  4. Fold the front part of pastry over the apples, roll up the rest. Seal with an egg wash along the edge of the back 12? side, and pinch the edges with a fork.
  5. Score the pastry with a knife in 6 places, and brush the pastry with the egg wash.
  6. Repeat with other pastry. Bake at 375 for 45 minutes, until juices bubble thru top.
