Push to Rid Our Streets of Toxic Pee; Say NO to Fracking Infrastructure; Reject the Energy Policy Modernization Policy Act; Stop the Native American Land Grab

Push to Rid Our Streets of Toxic Pee!

This is not the first time iEat Green has brought your attention to the health and environmental risks of Glyphosate (one of several toxic chemicals found in RoundUp) and it won’t be the last! That is, not until the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) conducts a more thorough review of all the chemicals which makeup this weed-killing herbicide, and stops relying on research done by Monsanto. Several studies (including the EPA’s) do prove that the chemical is carcinogenic on it’s own, however, corrupt corporate interests are still pushing propaganda which say the herbicide is not hazardous for humans–ack! The World Health Organization has also declared that glyphosate is cancer-causing, so Food and Water Watch continues their most laudable work in gathering signatures for a petition, telling the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to ban Roundup and eliminate this toxic pee from streaming into our rivers and streams!! Spread awareness of this important issue within your circles and sign the petition today!

Say NO to Building More Fracking Infrastructure

Earlier this year, environmentalists and ‘fracktivists’ had a major win when New York State rejected a planned 125-mile long natural gas pipeline—known as the Constitution Pipeline—as a way to transport natural gas fracked in Northeast Pennsylvania to Boston, New York City and other markets in the region. pipelineYet plenty of work still needs to be done considering the most recent ruling by federal courts to resume construction of the Dakota Access pipeline—ack! Let’s join Portland and other New England cities in the fight to keep fracking disposal and build-outs from happening. Read and sign the petition which asks Gov. Cuomo to protect our Empire State from fracking infrastructure! If you’re interested or have questions, contact our local NY Food & Water Watch senior organizer for additional information or for how to get involved today!

Reject the Energy Policy Modernization Act

For many economists and politicians this bill is an appropriate response to the rapidly growing and ever-changing energy landscape of our times. However, this bill would also speed the export of domestically produced gas and effectively lock us into dependency for fossil fuels. And we don’t want that!  Sign the petition to reject this bill which purposely steps away from the fundamental change required to face our core energy challenges!!

Stop the Native American Land Grab

Though some people and places have begun the hard work of spreading the truth about the ‘discovery’ of our country and are reconciling the name ‘Columbus Day’, there are still so many untold stories of the native-land-grabindigenous people who lived here before us, and who’s land we took ( the devastating affects incurred by colonialism!). Furthermore, new legislation has been introduced to remove the protection of 18 million acres of land which is highly significant to the preservation of at least five Native American tribes and cultures. Sign the petition to stop this proposed bill from passing, which is actually “a fossil fuel development bonanza and public land giveaway that significantly rolls back existing protections for Utah’s wildlands“!!
