My Interview with Andrianna Natsoulas, the New Executive Director of NOFA-NY

Hi All,

Today I had the pleasure of talking with Andrianna Natsoulas, about the mission of NOFA-NY and some of the biggest challenges facing the organic andrianna-webcroppedmovement today. Access to land for young farmers was certainly at the top of the list, as well as educating farmers on the benefits of organic farming when it comes to climate change. Another issue we talked about was the trust behind the organic label. As most of you know, the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB), which is the arm of the USDA that is set up to make recommendations and protect the integrity of organic products, is supposed to be made up of people from different segments of the food industry, from organic farmers to manufacturers, however, it seems that corporate influence is wielding its power again through mis-representation on the Board. NOFA-NY is working hard with other regional organizations to educate the public, and to keep the pressure on, for transparency and honest representation within NOSB. To learn more about NOFA-NY, listen to our interview below.
