My Interview with Alethea Vasilas and Aidan Feeney from Orkestai Farm

Hi All,

Orkestai Farm is a special place! It is a CSA organic farm situated at the 400 acre Planting Fields Arboretum in Upper Brookville, Long Island, where they have created a community of autistic young adults to help work the fields. The founder, Alethea Vasilas, has brought her background of dance, somatic therapeutic exploration, movement, psycho analytic expression and kinetic relationships to the cultivation of agriculture and neurodiversity. She is able to individualize the work in the garden with each persons special needs, creating a safe and nurturing environment for each young adult and their families. Aidan Feeney was brought on board, along with his partner Natasha Phieffer, to run the everyday workings of the farm. Both Aidan and Natasha have a degree in organic farming , and have worked extensively in Vermont and the Hudson Valley, before joining the staff at Orkestai Farm.
