Join iEat Green’s Summer Classes and Workshops; iEat Green Interviews Karen Pearl, President and CEO of “God’s Love We Deliver”

Hi All,

I know Summer is a busy time for all of us, but it’s not too late to sign up for the Edible and Medicinal Herb Walk with Dr. Ellen Kamhi, the Natural Nurse, at the iEat Green Homestead, this Thursday, July 28th. Back by popular demand, Ellen-Herb-Walk-the workshop is an opportunity to take a walk and identify wild plants that grow along side the road, that are edible and have medicinal qualities. We will make an herbal tincture and some lip balm from our collection. Then on August 2nd, Chef Bhavani will lead us in a Mediterranean inspired Cooking Class, and on August 16th, it will be a Thai inspired Cooking Class. Both classes are vegan and gluten free, and the produce will be harvested from the on-site organic garden.

This Thursday, Karen Pearl, the President and CEO of God’s Love We Deliver, will join Bhavani on the Progressive Radio Network. God’s Love We Deliver is a non profit organization that delivers nutritious, individually-tailored meals volunteers-of-God's-Love-We-Deliver-with-Karen-Pearlto people who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves. Founded in 1985, when one woman began delivering food on her bicycle to a man dying from AIDS, God’s Love now cooks 5,500 meals each weekday, delivering them to clients living with life-altering illnesses in all five boroughs of New York City, and surrounding areas. Because they believe the combination of hunger and serious illness is a crisis, they deliver food within 24 – 48 hours of first being contacted. It’s an amazing organization, and Karen Pearl is helping it expand and service even more people. Please join me on Thursday to learn more about this wonderful organization and the work Karen is doing there.
