The Great Arctic Thaw Could Unleash Giant Viruses

arctic-mainIt sounds like a science fiction movie, but unfortunately this is real life. French scientists have discovered viruses laying dormant in a 30,000 year old sample of permafrost in the arctic. This is a major cause for concern. Since the arctic is melting due to global warming, this can wake up these inactive viruses causing diseases that were once eradicated to spread like wildfire once again through the human population. Not only that, but oil companies also want to drill there now that the oil is easier to get to, causing ice to melt faster and activate these potentially deadly viruses.

California Moves To Protect Citizens From Monsanto’s GMO Weed Killer

Glyphosate Prop 65California officials are pushing to add glyphosate to their states’ official list of known carcinogens. Glyphosate is the main ingredient in Monsanto’s “Round up Ready” herbicide, and has been linked to health problems for people who used it or were in contact with it. This is a huge move not only for the state, but for the country. Hopefully, other states will join in and also add this to their lists, which forces Monsanto to have a warning label on their packaging saying it contains glyphosate.
