iEat Green’s Women Retreat was a Success! iEat Green Interviews Denise O’Brien, Founder of the Women Food and Agriculture Network

Hi All,

This has been a very exciting week! First, I co-taught a Women’s Retreat with my daughter Elana Meta, and then I participated in the Slow Food North Retreat photoShore‘s screening of the documentary film, Inhabit. Both events were wonderful, and inspiring in their own way. The Women’s Retreat was a sacred space, where we moved our bodies to the rhythms of the elements, shared feelings, had a cooking class, and sat down to a IMG_2033communal Farm to Table meal. We engaged all of our senses, and came away with an overall feeling of bliss. It was delicious! The film screening of Inhabit was also inspiring, in that it gave you a sense of what is possible, when you allow the natural elements of the earth to guide you in creating a landscape that is in harmony with the planet. You walked away from the film with a positive feeling of hope for the future, inhabitand a desire to be a part of building a natural habitat to live in. Of course, no Slow Food event or iEat Green event would be complete without a reception of culinary delights, so we feasted in seasonal style on Roasted Vegetables, Fiddlehead Ferns, Baba Ganouch, Hummus, Tabouli, Rice Pasta Salad, and GF Cookies. Yum!!
