iEat Green Wishes You All a Wonderful, Slow Thanksgiving Dinner and Shares Photos from Our 23rd Annual Thanksgiving Feast for those in Need;

Hi All,

As we all get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving tomorrow, I am still coming off of the “high” that I had from our Thanksgiving Feast yesterday. This past weekend was filled with the love of community coming together for a higher purpose, for a gesture of giving to those in need, and yet, we end up getting even more than we give. We are blessed to be the recipients of all that good energy, to reflect on the many gifts we have in our lives, and to share in the bounty of good will that happens when strangers come together and create friendships. I am always in awe of the many faces that walk through my door and participate in this event. To everyone who helped to make yesterdays Thanksgiving Feast a success, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

All helping hands were on deck. Big thanks to the several groups who volunteered their time this past week!

Cooking until 3am!

We had five electric carvers to handle all our 60+ turkeys; each cooked to perfection though I’d much rather roast a squash!

One of my favorite parts throughout this whole experience is bringing together such diverse groups of people!

The line continued for hours. We filled their bellies and their hearts as much as we could!

And now I can think about tomorrow. What do I want to create at my own dinner table? How do I want to give thanks for all the blessings in my life, of which there are many? I know I will be surrounded by family and friends, but will I slow down enough to savoir the deliciousness of it all? Yes I will!!! Taking a moment before the meal starts, to hold hands, share in a communal Ohm, and reflect on all we have to be thankful for, is how I want to start my Thanksgiving Dinner. I’ll be making my Stuffed Heirloom Pumpkin (recipe on website) as our centerpiece, Seitan Cutlets with Mushroom Marsala Gravy, and an Organic Turkey for the carnivores. Of course we will have all the usual vegetarian side dishes, and delicious desserts to finish it off. I better head out and go shopping now! I’ve got lots to do!

Wishing you all a Slow and Delicious Thanksgiving, whether you are surrounded by family, friends or going solo, may it be peaceful and reflective of all you have to be thankful for.

There is no PRN show tomorrow, so I’ll see you all the following Thursday!

In love and gratitude,

Bhavani
