iEat Green Welcomes In Summer with Memorial Weekend Celebrations; The Circle of Life Keeps Flowing; An Interview with Diane Hatz, Founder and Organizer for TEDxManhattan ?Changing the Way We Eat? and Founder and Executive Director of Change Food

Hi Everyone,

The ebb and flow of life is a wondrous thing, with the ups and downs, the highs and lows, and all the curves. One moment I am celebrating the beginning of summer, sharing sunsets, fireworks, pot-lucks, and friendships, and then the next moment I am mourning the loss of a friend, a mother, a wife and a grandma. Life is a mystery, each day a gift. I am filled with gratitude for every moment I can share with those I love. I am filled with gratitude for family 8073eba9e3a7614796e1b12ebcd60830and friends, colleagues and co-workers. I am filled with gratitude that I found a passion in my work, and that I can share that passion with all of you.

Every week, there is important news about our food system, our health, the environment and politics, and this week is no exception. There was the oil spill in California and the continuation of the drought, the passing of the bill by the Senate to allow Fast Tracking of the TPP,? the problem of micro-beads polluting our water, and now, hundreds of dead turtles are washing up on shore in Flanders Bay, where water tests show lethal levels of toxins. It is easy to get over whelmed and feel helpless, but we should never underestimate the power of the people. Together, we can make a change. This past Saturday, tens of thousands of people in over 400 cities around the world, joined the March Against Monsanto in the third annual, worldwide protest. Awareness is rising, and Monsanto is getting nervous. We must keep up the pressure and eventually, we will win!!

Please join me this Thursday, as I interview Diane Hatz, the Founder and Executive Director of “Change Food,” where she uses her expertise to develop creative projects, raise awareness, and motivate people to take actions to change the food system. Diane was the Founder and Organizer of TEDx Manhattan, ?Changing the Way We Eat???? diane-hatz-1from 2010 – 2015, where she brought together key experts in the food and farming movement to discuss issues with the U.S. food system. I am looking forward to learning more about Change Food, and the work Diane is doing. Please join us!
