iEat Green Shares Interview with Leah Lizarando, the Founder and CEO of 412 Food Rescue

Hi All,

I just finished my interview with Leah Lizarando, the Founder and CEO of 412 Food Rescue. We had a great conversation about the problem of food waste in this country (40% of all food is wasted) and the growing awareness of the need to do something about it. Well, Leah and the folks at 412 Food Rescue are doing just that. They developed an app that matches up ‘food ready to be donated’, with beneficiaries ready to accept it, and a crowd sourcing network of volunteers ready to pick it up. It’s really exciting, and the best thing is… that it is replicable! Other cities can make use of this app, and we can start to save food all over this country and get it to people in need, reducing hunger and reducing carbon emissions from land fills. Its a win-win situation. To learn more about 412 Food Rescue, and ways you can get involved in food rescue in your town, listen to our interview below. And spread the word!
