iEat Green Shares Interview with Denise O’Brien, Founder of Women, Food and Agriculture Network

HI All,

I had a great interview yesterday with Denise O’Brien, about the organization she founded almost 20 years ago. The Women, Food and Agriculture Network grew out of Denise’s involvement in the Women’s Movement, and her Deniseawareness in the lack of voice that women in farming had. Farming was a “Man’s World”, and even though their were plenty of women involved in the work, they were invisible, so Denise set out to change that! Denise also became very involved in food policy, and was a Food and Society Fellow in 2001, is on the Board of Pest Action Network, and represented the US Dept. of Agriculture in Afghanistan in 2012. She currently mentors young women in her community on regenerative farming, for the next generation. If you missed the show, listen to it below!
