Talking with Danielle this morning actually made me feel hopeful for our future. Her new start-up, FoodTank, The Food Think Tank, is taking her breadth of knowledge, from years at the Worldwatch Institute and beyond, along with her partner, Ellen Gustofson, and creating an organization that is dedicated to re-thinking our global food system, while strengthening our local food sheds. Her experiences of traveling through Sub-Sahara Africa and India, meeting farmers, researching indigenous foods and agricultural systems, and listening to stories of sustainable innovations that are working, has informed her outlook and dedication to this new endeavor.
