iEat Green Radio: An Interview with David Orr

Bhavani Jaroff iEat Green PRNThis week, the guest on my radio show, iEat Green with Bhavani on the Progressive Radio Network, was David Orr, scholar, professor and author of numerous books, including Earth In Mind. David has been credited with bringing the Green Educational movement to college campuses, through his work of exploring sustainable eco-systems.

He was also instrumental in pushing for the design of the first “Green Building” at a college campus. The Adam Joseph Lewis Center for Environmental Studies at Oberlin College set the standard bar high in green architecture, and has been a model for many buildings since.

Now, his most exciting project is The Oberlin Project, which is a model city, where sustainable systems are analyzed and set up to work together towards a carbon neutral outcome. The hope is that the city of Oberlin will be an example of how we can design sustainable, livable cities, that can take us into the future without adding to global warming and the destruction of our planet.

Speaking with David Orr was an honor and an inspiration. He has made a difference in the world and has touched so many people’s lives through his work and writing. I hope you can take the time to listen to our interview and hear what he had to share.
