iEat Green Looks Forward to 2017, with an Open Heart, an Active Spirit, and a Commitment to Action! Robert Grillo, Author of ‘Farm to Fable’, Joins Bhavani on PRN

Hi Everyone,

I am not sad to see 2016 go! It was a challenging year. I lost many people I loved, including my dog. heart-w_silver-liningAnd yet, 2017 is certainly off to a weird start! We are entering scary times, where it is imperative that we pay attention and participate in our democratic process, to protect our freedoms and those of our fellow brothers and sisters. We can not let history repeat itself, and we must all speak up and step up when we see injustices taking place in our neighborhoods and communities. We need to vote, not just with our fork, ( although you know I think that is important!) but also at the polls. However, in the meantime, I am going to keep my heart open and look for the silver linings in all things, because we all know they exist!

There were two articles in yesterday’s Science Times that actually were a bit uplifting. The first article,  Weak Federal Powers Could Limit Trump’s Climate-Policy Rollback talks about the momentum that renewable energy already has (including the jobs that it is creating) and how cities would not be able to just stop it in its tracks. And the second article, Can Carbon Capture Technology Prosper Under Trump?, talks about the win/win situation that carbon capture technology creates, and that once Trump sees how good it is for business, he will keep it! Let’s hope that happens!

On Thursday, please join me in welcoming Robert Grillo to my show, on the Progressive Radio robert-grilloNetwork. Robert is the author of Farm to Fable, and the founder and director of Free from Harm, a 501 c 3 organization promoting farmed animal rescue, education and advocacy. Free From Harm’s mission is to expose animal agriculture’s impact on non human animals, vulnerable communities and the environment. As a marketing communications professional for over twenty years, Robert has worked on large food industry accounts through which he acquired a behind-the-scenes perspective on food branding and marketing. Farm to Fable is his first book, where he shares those insights, along with the cultural myths behind so many of our food choices.
