iEat Green: Live at the Anti-Fracking Rally at the NYS Democratic Convention

Hi Everybody,

It feels so good to be out in the garden! I can’t believe it’s already Memorial Weekend, a time to welcome in summer, when I feel like Spring is just starting. I guess this is the new normal! Speaking of the new normal, starting Friday at the Cinema Arts Center, and at theaters across the country, the new documentary film, Fed Up, will be showcasing to audiences the realities of our current food system. It is an important film for the masses to see. For many of us, it is stuff we already know, but for the majority of Americans, much of the information in the film is new, and is very important for as many people as possible to see it, so we can continue to grow the good food movement. If we want to make change, we need the advantage of millions of people behind us, in order to combat the large corporations that are investing millions of dollars to keep the status quo. Please spread the word, and come out and see this film. It will be at the Cinema through next Thursday.

Along similar lines, this Thursday from 10-11am, there will be a large protest at the Hilton Hotel in Melville, against hydro-fracking, at the State Democratic "Fracking" protestConvention, here on Long Island. Governor Cuomo will be there, and so will thousands of New Yorkers, reminding him that we don’t want Hydro-Fracking to become legal in New York State. The states that have already legalized hydro-fracking are having numerous problems with clean drinking water, increased cases of cancer and other health related illnesses, towns being decimated by industrial traffic, real estate prices plummeting, gas leaks, contaminated waste water, increases in earth quakes, and the list goes on. Please come out and show your support, and help us keep fracking out of New York!.

This week, on the Progressive Radio Network, I will be recording my show live from the Anti-Fracking Protest, at the Democratic Convention, and interviewing protesters and organizers of the event. I am so excited to be able to bring this event to all of you who will not be able to be there, so that you can feel the energy of this growing movement.
