iEat Green Joins Thousands in the NYC Climate March; Tickets Go On Sale Today for Krishna Das Fundraiser for Elija Farm and Orkestai Farm; Beth Fiteni, Author of “The Green Wardrobe Guide” Joins Bhavani on PRN

Hi All,

After my show last week, I headed into NYC for the first “People’s Climate March and Rally” of the weekend. Although it was nothing like the 2014 Climate March, there was still a palpable energy and spirit to bringing Climate Change to the forefront of all decisions. We need to let our voices be heard, and push our local elected official to support alternative energies, to reject investing money into building an infrastructure that supports the fracking industry, and we need to hold corporate polluters accountable for the toxic contamination they are responsible for. The rally in NYC was the first of hundreds of marches and rallies that took place across the country on Saturday, with over 30,000 people in San Francisco, raising awareness for the upcoming climate change summit scheduled for next week in that city. This was part of a coordinated effort, with hundreds of other actions that took place in cities around the world, to stand up against the environmentally dangerous policies of the Trump administration, which is working hard to eliminate regulations that would lower greenhouse gas emissions and hold corporations accountable. We all need to work together to turn this administration around!! It starts by Voting!! Make sure to vote and get everyone you know to do the same!!

iEat Green is happy to be working with the Cinema Arts Centre to bring Krishna Das to Long Island in a very special, fundraising concert, to support two very special farms in our community. Elija Farm and Orkestai Farm, both work with young adults on the autistic spectrum, teaching them about working with their hands and loving the earth. This event welcomes everyone in the community to come as they are!

For those of you who do not know Krishna Das, he has been called yoga’s “rock star.”  He has taken the call-and-response chanting out of yoga centers and into concert halls, becoming a worldwide icon and the best-selling western chant artist of all time. Come and enjoy the blissful embrace of Indian chanting. Krishna Das has been working on a new CD, especially geared to calm and relax the listener, so its perfect for people on the spectrum, as well as yoga classes, meditations and massages! The new CD will be available for the first time at this event. I hope you can join us! Tickets will go fast, so don’t wait to buy them!

My guest this week on the Progressive Radio Network is Beth Fiteni, the founder of Green Inside and Out and the author of the new book, “The Green Wardrobe Guide – Finding EcoChic Fashions that Look Great and Help Save the Planet.” Beth has a Masters Degree in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School, as well as twenty years of experience working in the environmental movement for non-profit organizations in DC and NY.
