iEat Green is Celebrating Mother Earth at Terra Madre! Chef Michael Anthony Joins iEat Green on the Progressive Radio Network

Hi All,

When you read this, I will be in Turin, Italy, at the 2016 International Slow Food Conference called Terra Madre and Saloné terra-madredel Gusto. I have been here before, but this time, instead of the whole conference being in the Pavilion that had been built for the Olympics, the conference is spread out across the city, in parks, piazza’s, theaters and museums. Not only is it a food lovers paradise, with tastings and cooking classes, but it is an opportunity to learn from leaders from around the world about issues on food justice, food waste, sustainable agriculture, beekeeping, biodiversity and seed saving, to name just a few! I look forward to sharing all that I learn, with all of you!

Before I left, I had the privilege of interviewing Michael Anthony, the Executive Chef of Gramercy Tavern, along with m-anthonyUntitled and Studio Cafe at the Whitney Museum of American Art, for this week’s PRN show. Mike has worked in the kitchens of Restaurant Daniel and as the chef de cuisine at March Restaurant. Subsequently, Mike joined the team of Blue Hill as co-chef of the Manhattan restaurant and later as the executive chef at Blue Hill Stone Barns in Tarrytown. In 2008, Gramercy Tavern earned the James Beard Award for Outstanding Restaurant. In 2012, Michael won the James Beard Award for Best Chef: New York City and in v-vegetable-cover-0-02015, won for Outstanding Chef in America. His new cookbook, V is for Vegetables, won the James Beard Award for Vegetable Focused and Vegetarian Cookbook. Please join me on Thursday for a great conversation with Chef Michael Anthony!
