iEat Green Hosts Mineola Girl Scout Troop and Joins Rally to Resist Trump; Acharya Shunya, Ayurvedic Teacher and Healer Joins Bhavani on PRN!

Hi All,

So much of my work is cooking for people who are ill, and in need of healing foods, that when I get the opportunity to talk to young girls about eating well to prevent getting sick, it really warms my heart! This past week, I had the opportunity to host 11 and 12 year old girls who are learning about “eating for wellness and beauty” and it was pure joy! They were open to trying new foods and were enthusiastic about participating in the cooking and in the eating! We started the evening by making Vegetarian Sushi Rolls, filled with a sautéed carrot/onion/ginger mixture, and then added avocado or cucumber as desired. Next, we made a Japanese Stir Fry with Tofu, along with Sesame Rice Noodles, and finished up the evening with a Vegan Raspberry Lindzer Tart Cookie. It was a fun and educational evening for all!

On Tuesday, I joined with comrades to resist Trump in front of Senator Schumer’s and Senator Gillibrand’s office, to protest our current administration’s attack on healthcare, women’s rights, education, immigrant’s rights, and much more! You can join the movement today! Find rallies near you or get involved at a local community center, faith-based organization, or ACLU office to show your support.

My guest this week on the Progressive Radio Network is Acharya Shunya, an Ayurvedic practitioner, teacher, and author of the new book, Ayurveda Lifestyle Wisdom: A Complete Prescription to Optimize Your Health, Prevent Disease, and Live with Vitality and Joy. Acharya Shunya is the founder of Vedika Global, a spiritual foundation dedicated to elevating consciousness, building community, and serving humanity by illuminating India’s Vedic spiritual traditions of Ayurveda, yoga and Vedanta. Acharya Shunya is also the president of the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine. Her new book is simple to understand and is a very do-able guide to following many of these time tested traditions that will enhance your health through the understanding of how the earths rhythms and our own body rhythms are constantly at play. They impact our energy, digestion, mental alertness, weight control, and overall health. If you’ve ever had the desire to learn about Ayurvedic medicine, then this is an interview you won’t want to miss!
