iEat Green Feels Your Pain! Multi Million Dollar Investors Put Pressure on Banks Supporting Pipeline; Susan Zimet, Executive Director of Hunger Action Network Joins Bhavani on PRN

Hi All,

It is so difficult listening to the news everyday, knowing that half the country is hearing it differently then me. Number 45 has done a great job at convincing people that the media is the enemy, and that the media is out to get him. They would rather believe “Fake News” coming from tweets, Facebook, or bogus website, without any desire to check the facts. Thank G_D for investigative reporting! To think we have a person leading this country who gets his briefings from TV is so scary, I find it hard to believe!

I was very encouraged to hear on NPR, (public radio, real news)  the other day, that a letter was written and signed by pension funds, asset management companies, and organizations, with $653 billion in assets, to the 17 banks that are supporting the Dakota Pipeline, asking them to support the re-routing of the pipeline. I am hopeful that the pressure the banks are feeling will encourage them to do the right thing! So far, bank accounts worth $53 million dollars have been closed, as a protest to the Dakota Access Pipeline, (DAPL). Below is an excerpt,

“We call on the banks to address or support the Tribe’s request for a reroute and utilize their influence as a project lender to reach a peaceful solution that is acceptable to all parties, included the Tribe.”

This week, my guest on the Progressive Radio Network is Susan Zimet, the Executive Director of Hunger Action Network of New York State. Hunger Action Network is a membership organization of emergency food providers, advocates, faith groups and low-income individuals whose goal is to end hunger and its root causes, including poverty. We’ll also be talking about the Farm to Food Bank Bill, which they are trying to get through Albany! Please join me on Thursday, to welcome Susan Zimet to my show!
