iEat Green Explores “Green Dry Cleaning” with Beth Fiteni from Green Inside and Out

Hi All,

I just finished a great interview with Beth Fiteni from Green Inside and Out. She recently finished a research report on “Green Dry Cleaning” and what that means, and I was surprised to find out that there are many other options to the usual, toxic, dry cleaning chemical, Percholorethylene (Perc). Perc has been known to increase many types of cancer among dry cleaning workers, and the toxic fumes are airborne. The EPA regulates this chemical, and beginning in 2020, all dry cleaners still using Perc, will not be allowed to be in a building with residential apartments above. I was also surprised to learn that clothes cleaned with Perc, can continue to give an off gas, so you should unwrap them before bringing them into your home. To find a Eco Friendly Dry Cleaner near your home, check out the website.
