iEat Green: An Interview with Benzi Ronen

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I had a great interview with Benzi Ronen, the founder of Farmigo, a company promoting a new model for buying local, and building community. This is how it works!? Farmigo builds relationships with local farmers, and sources locally produced products. Then they partner with an organizer in a community, who invites friends and family to become a part of their coop/CSA. The organizer sets up a drop off point and time for pick-ups, and Farmigo puts up online everything that is available that week for purchase. The member then goes online and orders exactly what they want, from the available items. Farmigo packs up, and labels all of the orders, and drops them off at the designated location. The organizer receives a 10% discount for their work, or they can set it up as a fund raiser for their school or non-profit. It is a program that is good for the farmer, good for the producer, good for the customer, good for the planet, and good for building a stronger community.
