Happy Thanksgiving!! May You Enjoy Gratitude in Your Life and the Pleasures of the Table this Holiday Season!

Happy holidays Everyone!

I hope that tomorrow brings you happiness and joy, and some good food too!

It has been an incredible ride over the past four days with nonstop prepping and cooking. I am so grateful for the hundreds of hands that helped me deliver iEat Green’s Annual img_0943Thanksgiving Feast for the Homeless in Queens, New York.

For the past 22 years, in partnership with the River Fund NY, I have chosen img_8088to celebrate Thanksgiving in a particularly unlikely sort of way… by preparing and cooking 64 turkeys! That is, in addition to the 20 cooked turkeys that were donated, the 48 pumpkin pies we made, the 75 Apple pies that were donated, and the 350 pounds of sweet potatoes and Idaho potatoes we scrubbed and cooked, all made with love, while building a stronger community of people who want to connect and give back to our img_8084community. It is truly an amazing event!

I want to thank all my gracious helpers, with whom I couldn’t do it without! Your love and energy feeds me and makes this all possible! Every year I get to meet so many new and fresh faces seeking to help, either by making a img_0950donation, by getting dirty in the kitchen, or by freezing their butts off outside, while serving a population that is struggling to make ends meet! Thank you, thank you, thank you! All totaled, more than 178 people participated in this love fest!! And a special thank you to my husband, Joe, who not only supports me in opening up our home to everyone, but he jumps right in and is the best organizer anyone could hope for!
