September 7th, The North Fork Foodie Tour

September 7, 2014 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Celebrate the North Fork?s Bounty

The North Fork of Long Island is famous for delectable fare. Think Peconic Bay scallops and Long Island duck, straw?berries, potatoes and wines. The tradition of farming has continued and expanded. Now it?s taken on yet another life as artisans have begun to produce distinctive foods and explore methods of sustainable agriculture.

This remarkable event has become a highlight of the pleasure, education and unique environment so proudly represented on the North Fork.

New this year: 8 Hands Farm (sheep for wool, meat & cheese); Young Widows Farm for eggs; ?L.I. Mushroom Farm and enjoy revisiting some of your previous favorites (Catapano Dairy Farm, Lavender by the Bay, Shinn Estate Vineyards,
Koppert Cress and many more!)

Enjoy talks and demonstrations by some of the North Fork’s finest: including John Ross, one of the North Fork’s premier chefs, and Andy Lowry who will talk about oyster farming!

Chart your own course for a day exploring the bounty of the North Fork with behind-the-scenes tours and meet the extraordinary people who have dedicated their lives to the art of great local food and wine. Learn about artisanal foods, wines and new methods of sustainable agriculture.

Bring your cameras and participate in the Photo Contest as you enjoy the tour.
