October 3: 1st Annual East End Mushroom Company Mushroom Cook-Off

$50The East End Mushroom Company is hosting their 1st Annual Mushroom Cook-Off on Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 12 to 4 p.m. at Macari Vineyards in Mattituck. The event will feature up to 40 local and regional chefs who will be preparing tasting dishes with the mushrooms we grow – Maitake, Shiitake, and Oyster. Macari Vineyards wine and Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. beer will be served, and live music will be performed by The Earthtones.
Tickets are $50 per person, and include two (2) complimentary drink tickets. 100% of proceeds will be donated to Maureen’s Haven and C.A.S.T.
Participating restaurants include Baron’s Cove (baronscove.com), Claudio’s (claudios.com), First and South (firstandsouth.com), Grana (granajamesport.com), Highway Restaurant and Bar (highwayrestaurant.com), noah’s (chefnoahs.com), Shelter Island House (shelterislandhouse.com), Touch of Venice (touchofvenice.com), chef Kyle Koenig (formerly of Topping Rose House in Bridgehampton), and more.
The Cook-Off will also feature a panel of judges, and an awards ceremony for the top three dishes. Here is what your favorite chef and restaurant could win:
1st Place – $2,000 worth of our mushrooms for the restaurant, $250 prize for the chef of the winning restaurant
2nd Place – $500 worth of our mushrooms for the restaurant
3rd Place – $250 worth of our mushrooms for the restaurant
