On October 15-16, people from all over the world who have been harmed by Monsanto will convene in The Hague, Netherlands, for the international Monsanto Tribunal. The Monsanto Tribunal is an international civic society initiative to hold Monsanto accountable for what is described by many as human rights violations, crimes against humanity and ecocide. The People’s Assembly provides the opportunity for social movements to rally and plan for the future with two days of workshops and strategy sessions hosted by various humanitarian, farming, and education organizations including Navdanya (a network of seed keepers and organic producers spread across 16 states in India) and Seed Freedom. This important event brings awareness to the dangers and increased risks of big agribusiness including the millions of people poisoned by toxic chemicals, the degradation of biodiversity, and the oppression of small farmers by big corporations.
