Farm-Based Education National Gathering, Register is Filling Up!

The FBEN is a free member network established to strengthen and support the work of educators, farmers, and community leaders who provide access and experiences on working farms.
Our members come from farms that are nonprofit, for-profit, and community-based,producing vegetables, animals, fiber, timber, and other living natural resource products. Member programs serve all ages from infant visitors with their parent, through K to 12 grades, to university students and adults throughout their lives.
There are currently over 2500 FBEN members. They come from 48 states and represent 28 countries.
The 6th National Farm-Based Gathering is coming to Concord, MA this November 4-6!
The Gathering invites educators, farmers, nonprofit organization staff, parents, nutrition practitioners, policy makers, students, and more to come together to share skills and resources, build relationships, and celebrate the vibrant field of farm-based education.
The Gathering will also welcome many members of our host community, from teachers and food service professionals, to parents, students and local food advocates who seek engagement with the transformative work of farm-based education. Organizers expect 300-500 to travel from several states and internationally to attend components of the Gathering, with heavy representation from Massachusetts and New England.

Workshops will focus on program development, marketing, fundraising, the balance of production and education, nonprofit board management, and much more. Peer educators will showcase their sites during field trips and workshops, a keynote address will spark discussion, and group meals will allow for ample networking time.
The Gathering is organized by the FBEN in partnership with the Massachusetts Farm to School Project (MFTS), The Trustees and Concord-Carlisle Adult & Community Education, Shelburne Farms.
