November 29: Rally to Divest from Fossil Fuel in NY

November 29, 2017 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

You’ll have the opportunity to urge NYC to divest its pensions from dirty oil, gas, and coal companies on Wednesday, November 29th. NYC Public Advocate Tish James is hosting a Public Hearing on Climate Change, and we will rally before the meeting and flood the room with New Yorkers to send a message that it’s time to #DivestNYWill you join us and RSVP for the rally and hearing today?

We’ve invited experts and community leaders who will speak to the overwhelming moral and financial reasons why NYC needs to divest its pensions. Organizers from Standing Rock and the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation in Alberta will share the impacts of tar sands and pipelines companies on their communities – the same companies the NYC pension funds are investing in.

Join them in sending the strongest message possible to NY elected officials that it is time to cut its ties with fossil fuel companies and invest in a clean and just future.
