May 6: Hudson Riverkeeper Sweep

May 6, 2017

Planning is underway for the 6th Annual Riverkeeper Sweep, a day of service for the Hudson River and its tributaries. Join us on Saturday, May 6, 2017.

“The is not only a chance to give back to your local waterway, but an opportunity to work side by side with your neighbors to make a difference in your community. Together we’ll make a visible improvement at 100+ shoreline sites in a single day.

Thanks to the volunteer leadership of 165 Sweep Leaders in 2016, more than 2,200 volunteers came down to the river or their local creek to remove 40 tons of trash and plant 1,150 native trees and grasses. We are counting on YOU to make the 6th Annual Sweep the biggest yet.”

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

Organize a cleanup in your community: Riverkeeper relies on local volunteers to organize cleanups, with our support and assistance. Check out the list of projects from the 2016 Sweep. If there’s an additional project you want to see included, you can sign up to lead in 2017.

Volunteer: For those of you who would like to get involved as volunteers, rather than organizers or sponsors, fantastic! We need you. Registration will open on April 3 at riverkeeper.org/sweep.
