Just Food’s Advocacy Training

Just Food‘s Advocacy Training supports community-driven efforts to tackle racial and economic inequities in our food system. Our training is grounded in popular education techniques and is for individuals or community-based organizations looking to gain or advance their skills in organizing food advocacy campaigns and events in their own communities.

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
– Understand the differences between food security, justice and sovereignty
– Share and understand how inequities are experienced in the NYC food system
– Utilize community outreach and engagement techniques grounded in popular education
– Make food policy relatable to their community members and issues
– Effectively engage government officials on food issues
– Plan, organize and conduct a grassroots campaign from start to finish

Where: Just Food’s offices
114 West 47th Street, Suite C1-35
(Between 6th and 7th Avenues)

When: Saturday, September 24th and Saturday, October 1st, 9:30am-1:30pm each day

A light breakfast and snacks will be provided.

Cost: $15 for Just Food community food project partners, $30 for general public. Buy your tickets here!
