International Terra Madre Day is December 10th, but Slow Food North Shore will be celebrating it on December 9th at our local cinema.? During our celebration we will share with you a short video about Terra Madre in Italy and the community that makes it so special, while enjoying some local foods prepared by Slow Food members.

Terra Madre Day is an opportunity to celebrate “Mother Earth” and highlight local foods that are at risk of disappearing.? One of Slow Food’s many programs is their Ark of Taste which identifies those foods along with the cultures and techniques related to their production and use, in an attempt to catalogue and preserve them.? We invite you to nominate an endangered product in your area into the Ark of Taste.
