By the time you are reading this newsletter, I will have just arrived in Torino, Italy, for the International Slow Food Conference called Terra Madre and Salone del Gusto. Terra Madre is an event that brings together those players in the food chain who together support sustainable agriculture, fishing and breeding, with the goal of preserving taste, biodiversity and our environment. I am very excited to be a part of the Slow Food Community, working to bring the level of consciousness around food and everything that it is connected to it’s highest level. Wenonah has worked extensively on food, water, energy and environmental issues at the national, state and local level, and her book, Foodopoly, examines how the influence of corporations and consolidation has effected our food system.
