An Interview with Jo Robinson, Author of “Eating on the Wild Side”

Hi All,

As I prepare for the Socially Responsible Investing, Farm to Table dinner party, on Thursday, July 24th, I am surprised that people are not knocking down the door to find out more information. Socially Responsible Investing seems to me like “Having your cake and getting to eat it too!” You get to invest your money with companies that are in alignment with your social, moral and ethical beliefs, while at the same time, ?divesting any interests in fossil fuel companies or bio-tech companies like Monsanto and Dow. It’s a win-win situation. And I’m happy to report, after our first year of doing it, that our investments did as well as the top mutual funds that are invested in all of the wrong companies! If you want more information about the event, send me an email or give me a call!

On another note, I was very disappointed to hear that Eden Organics, (the only company that I know of that uses Kombu in their beans, and doesn’t use the toxic chemical BPA in the linings of their cans) was one of the companies that, like the Hobby Lobby case, is challenging the ?Affordable Care Act’s mandate to offer birth control to their employees.??I believe in religious freedom, and this ACA mandate allows for that freedom. I know my focus is on food, the environment and sustainability, but I believe this precedent will effect us all. Please sign a petition, asking Michael Potter, the CEO of Eden Foods, to drop his lawsuit. Thank you!

This week, on the Progressive Radio Network, I am very excited to introduce all of you to my guest, Jo Robinson, a health writer and author of the Screen Shot 2014-07-08 at 10.43.10 AMrevolutionary new book,?Eating on the Wild Side.
